Monsoon Fashion
With the Monsoon season in full force, it is time to look for complimenting fashion that allows for you to dodge those puddles
and still be fashionable.
This year typically, the concentration is on bold colors, trying to stay away from the dreary pale colors already surrounding outside. Fabrics such as blended cotton and polynylon are ideal for this time of year. Fashion experts avoid using chiffon and crepe as they lose their sheen when they get wet. Preferably, thick fabric is best and will also help keep you warm.
Some designers are introducing a new Jungle look to their monsoon fashion collections by using bold colors such as olive green and dark beige. They combine these with the exotic look of animal prints for styles that are sure to be noticed.
Fashion experts say that blue, green, indigo and white are the best picks for the monsoon fashion, and some introduce a Western approach to their Indian traditional wear by designing Capri pants and beach wear. These items are designed to stand out and flatter any shape, while separating you from the dreary, wet conditions.
Silk is also a popular choice for fabrics in this year’s monsoon fashion collection; it helps add depth and scope to hues, and brings out variances in the colors otherwise not seen. It is a lightweight fabric, but still has more stability than lighter fabrics.
Whatever the color or fabric for the monsoon collections, some designers prefer to stick with traditional Indian styles and fabrics
and do not make a separate line for this time of year. They tend to stay away from western influenced attire as well, such as Capri pants and beachwear. Of course there are still those that believe women should be completely covered up and don themselves with dark, drab colors. But for the bold and beautiful, monsoon season now introduces them to a whole new world of fashion.
